All philosophers really want is to get to start from nothing, remove content from context, and go on from there. But it takes a lot of work to prepare and define an Ur-space, a lot of talk to define a context-free language. Even trained mathematicians in ballet shoes will mark up the shiny floor, and it's all down hill from there. No point in making a Boole of yourself, just to make a point.

But none of us philosophers gets to make any primordial distinctions. We just get to imagine what they might be, then talk endlessly about what we have imagined. What a life! All I really want is a primitive instance. To get one, the "I" must go away. But you just keep sitting there, concocting pictures. You just want another argument.
